Car Shipping Companies: Rhode Island
Rhode Island has the honor of being the smallest state in the United States. At just 1,214 square miles (3,144 km2) it is the second most densely populated state with a population of just over 1 million. The state capital and largest city is Providence. Founded in 1636 it was one of the country’s first cities. It was named Providence by its founder, Roger Williams, who believed it was “God’s merciful Providence” that he found such a wonderful spot to settle. Rhode Island was the first colony to declare independence from Great Britain, on May 4, 1776. It was the last of the original 13 states to agree to the Constitution on May 29, 1790, making it the 13th state. The state has held the common nickname “Little Rhody” for many years, although the officially adopted state nickname is “the Ocean State”. Rhode Island’s motto is a very simple one, “Hope”.
Rhode Island is tiny! The amount of things to do and see, however, is not! Living in this state is special, as it is so much different than other states. At the same time, you will find that it can be special and comfortable at the same time. Moving here is not something you will want to change later in life.
